The Ship in Thalassa Museum
A full-size copy of a ship some twenty-three centuries old, and the diver who found the original twice.

Listen to this place’s story in Peplos.
How the story begins
The ship in this building is a copy. The man who found the original lost it again on the same dive, and spent years hunting for it. Andreas Cariolou was a diver from Kyrenia, on the north coast of Cyprus. In 1965 he was gathering sponges from a deep reef when his anchor began to drag. Following it along the bottom, he came on a mound of ancient wine jars stacked in neat rows. Then a storm blew up.
The rest is in the app. Peplos plays the full story when you reach the place. You can also listen ahead of time.
