The trail goes down from the Troodos–Platres road along the Cold River, where water flows all year round. Along the way: dense forest and Kaledonia Waterfall. It ends at Psilo Dendro above Pano Platres.

Colours work like ski runs and match the app: they come from the length, the climbs and the steepness. Highest point: 1597 m.

Where to start

The upper start is 350 m from the Troodos Square–Platres road, 3 km from the square. The lower end is at Psilo Dendro above Pano Platres. There is parking at both ends.

Before you go

The hardest category on the Department of Forests scale: the third of three.

The trail loses about 330 m of height: from 1,571 m at the top to 1,238 m at the bottom. The way back is uphill.

The trail doesn’t end where it starts. Without a car at the other end, you’ll have to go back the same way — about 6 km in total.

Lighting fires in state forests and within 2 km of their boundary is forbidden. To report a fire, call 1407 — the call is free.
