Cap d’Antibes: Coastal Path trail

The customs officers’ path around the southern tip of Cap d’Antibes. It runs along the edge of limestone cliffs and around small coves and the walls of the large grounds of the Château de la Garoupe and the Château de la Croë. Protected sea lavender and “Jupiter’s beard” grow along the way. Back to Garoupe Beach through the cape’s quiet streets.

Colours work like ski runs and match the app: they come from the length, the climbs and the steepness. Highest point: 39 m.

Where to start

Parking area at Garoupe Beach on the east side of Cap d’Antibes, Avenue André Sella. There is a bus stop nearby.

Before you go

Until May 31, 2027, a section of about 50 m on the west side of the trail is closed: below Villa Eilenroc, between Croupatassière beach and the customs officers’ lane (chemin des Douaniers). The cliffs there are being reinforced. You can’t walk the whole loop for now: from Garoupe Beach, walk to the chemin des Douaniers and turn onto it, or go back the way you came.

Until the same date, swimming is banned in the Anse de l’Argent Faux cove below Villa Eilenroc.

The trail is closed in bad weather. When the mistral blows, sudden strong waves can hit the shore.

The trail is narrow, with uneven paving stones and steps. Wear comfortable shoes.
